TWO PRINTS FOR ONE

These prints are being offered especially for Jamie's signing event on the 13th September.

Print 1 is derived from one of Jamie's stunning glass pieces currently on exhibition at our gallery.

Print 2 is the classic God Save the Queen design taken from a very recent scan of the original collage.

Both will be signed by Jamie. If you want to have one or both dedicated to someone please buy the prints as normal and then send an e-mail to mollie@theaquariumonline.co.uk with you order number and dedication request.

The prints are 42cm x 30.5 cm on 315 gsm enhanced matt paper.

Edition of 100 numbered and signed by the artist.

Only 40 are available to buy on-line. The other 60 will be available at the aquarium on the 13th September.

BILL HAMPER aka BILLY CHILDISH

"Britain's greatest cultural asset" - The Guardian

Born in 1959 in Chatham, Kent. Billy Childish left Secondary education at 16 an undiagnosed dyslexic.
Refused an interview at the local art school he entered the Naval Dockyard at Chatham as an apprentice stonemason. During the following six months (the artist's only prolonged period of employment), he produced some six hundred drawings in 'the tea huts of hell.' On the basis of this work he was accepted into St Martin's School of Art to study painting. However, his acceptance was short-lived and before completing the course he was expelled. Childish then spent some 12 years 'painting on the dole', developing his own highly personal writing style and producing his art independently.

Over the past three years he has been working closely with the aquarium, exhibiting paintings and prints as well as producing artists’ books, novels, poetry collections, records, a book of paintings and, most recently, a book of woodcuts.

STUCKISTS

The Stuckist art group was formed in 1999 at the instigation of Charles Thomson, the title of the group being taken from a poem of mine written and published in 1994. I disagreed with the way Charles presented the group, particularly in the media. For these reasons I left the Stuckists in 2001. Please note that I never, ever, attended any Stuckist demonstrations.
My work was not shown in the large Stuckist exhibition held in the Walker Art Gallery in 2004.

TRACEY EMIN

My relationship with Tracey Emin finished in 1987 - 21 years ago, to be exact. Whilst I like and respect Tracey, and wish her well, the relationship is not significant in respect of my current life, and therefore I choose not to discuss it.
